The ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University Wind Symphony and Southwestern Michigan College Brass Band will perform on Feb. 1.
The ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University Wind Symphony and the Southwestern Michigan College Brass Band will perform a winter concert together on Saturday, Feb. 1, in the ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University Howard Performing Arts Center. Beginning at 8 p.m., the concert will have the theme “Of Legend and Lore: Traditions and Cinematic Stories.” The two groups will play various classical pieces.
The first half of the concert will be performed by the Southwestern Michigan College Brass Band under director Mark Hollandsworth. They will perform pieces by United Kingdom composers Matthew Hall, Phillip Sparke and Alan Fernie.
After an intermission, director Denisse Santos and the ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University Wind Symphony will perform pieces arranged and composed by Paul Lavender, John Powell, Bertrand Moren, Robert Longfield, John Williams, George Gershwin and John Krance. The concert is scheduled to conclude at 9:30 p.m.
This concert will be a ticketed event, and purchases can be made . General admission tickets cost $8.50, senior citizen tickets and student tickets (only two per student ID) cost $6.50 and tickets for children less than five years of age cost $1.50.
