On Monday, January 20, ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University and Lake Michigan College (LMC) held a joint event, “Creating the Beloved Community,” to mark Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Lake Michigan’s Mendel Center hosted an afternoon of music, poetry, and reflection. Later, ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University held a documentary screening, a panel discussion, and the unveiling of a plaque honoring a trailblazing alum.
The day’s events centered the principles of justice, inclusion, and community building, aligning with King’s vision characterized by love and mutual respect.
