Roberta is orginally from Southeast Missouri but has made Soutwest Michigan her home for more than 25 years. She has worked at ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ University in various postions since 1998. She joined the Institute for Prevention of Addictions in January of 2022 as an Administrative and Research Assistant.
Roberta's photographs have been published is various magazines and used by Pure Michigan, Country Living Magazine and Michigan Public Radio on their social media platforms. She is also an avid reader and enjoys birding, hiking, snorkeling and beachcombing with her husband, William and adult son, Caleb. Her time working with the Center for Trauma Education & Care (2022-2024) and the IPA has motivated her to seek out ways to enhance her photography’s social impact by sharing the healing potential of nature and art. This journey has led her to complete courses that encourages us to see the interconnectedness of humans, natures inhabitants and the earth itself. Specifically, how to improve our emotional intelligence by mindfully engaging with the natural world and integrating expressive arts into our outdoor experiences. As a Certified Nature Connection Specialist, she strives to communicate these concepts through her photography, writing, workshops and guest lecturing.
