Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE)

CAPE is designed to provide standardized secondary certification for students in the Caribbean islands who, having completed a minimum of five years of secondary education, wish to further their studies. Equivalent to the British Advanced level, CXC's CAPE replaced A-levels in 1998 (see A-Level table).

The subjects are organized in 1- or 2-unit courses with each unit containing three modules. The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) awards a CAPE diploma to candidates who have satisfactorily completed at least six units. It also awards the CAPE Associate Degree for students who continue on to complete a prescribed cluster of ten CAPE Units.

Transfer credit may be granted for units with grades I, II or III, for ¶·Å£ÆåÅÆ equivalents listed below. All credit awarded will be at the lower division level.
